ABOUT Sabrina

Sabrina Griffith, SHRM-CP, has served as a Victim Advocate for over a decade at The University of Tampa.  Her work has evolved from providing support to victims on an on-call basis to currently leading the victim advocacy program at her institution in a full-time capacity.  Being able to dedicate more time and attention to this role is integral for Sabrina as the current needs of the student community require greater support and attention from her area and the institution.  In her role as the Director of Student Care and Advocacy at The University of Tampa, she provides education on victim support, bystander intervention and violence prevention. She also collaborates with community groups including the Hillsborough County Sexual Assault Response Team.

Sabrina has a passion for people and thrives in work that allows her to assist members of marginalized groups.  In addition to her violence prevention work, Sabrina has over ten years as a diversity and inclusion educator; facilitating training and educational sessions on topics including gender, sexuality, LGBTQ+ allyship, bias, race, colorism, and classism to name a few.  Her career in higher education includes fifteen years in student affairs; specifically in residential living programs.  In her current role, she also works directly with the university student of concern, safety education, bias education and emergency management programs.  The emphasis of her role is on creating an environment that encourages responsible and safe behaviors and support to students in distress.  Sabrina is excited and eager to serve as a member of the CAPPA Leadership team.
