ABOUT La Wanza
La Wanza Lett-Brewington is the Director of the Women’s Center at Old Dominion University. La Wanza has experience working at the state and federal levels to educate and raise awareness about interpersonal violence, gender equity, leadership, diversity, and inclusion. She is also the Confidential Victims Advocate.
La Wanza is an author, consultant, historian, and award-winning playwright. First book, Today is Your Day, releases December. She has co-directed and produced the annual ODU Monologues - an original theatrical production embracing the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement and more.
During her career, she has served as a director at single and dual-domestic violence and sexual assault agencies in community and campus settings in New England. She has presented at various conferences and provided training for several organizations across the county.
Lett-Brewington holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in diversity education in organizations and social justice education, respectively.
